I love being his mom!

As many of you know, my son left for college this fall. I knew I would miss him but I didn't really know how much. I still have days where I cry because I am sad he is 8 hours away from me, and I have days where I cry because I am happy is there. I am still filled with so many different emotions...I am sad, I am happy, I am jealous because I didn't do the college thing but most importantly, I am filled with pride! I am so proud of him for getting to where he is now and for where he is going to be. I shared this layout a while back but thinking about him made me want to share it again just so everyone knows how much I love this boy and the wonderful young man he is...

You've been Booed! WRMK Bewtiched...

It’s that time of year again when all the ghosts and gobblins come out to play. It’s that time when your friendly neighborhood Boo comes to visit. You know when he has been by…your doorbell rings and there is nobody there except a friendly little package for you to enjoy and then pass along. I decided to get a little creative with the fun I was going to pass along…just a few simple steps and I had myself a cute little door hanger filled with some goodies
First I started out with a 12×12 piece of chipboard and cut it to 12×5. I used my WRMK circle cutter to cut a hole in the upper center, then I traced onto a piece of WRMK textured cardstock the chipboard hanger. I inked up the edges and attached it to my chipboard. I used a patterned paper from the WRMK Bewitched line and cut it slightly smaller than the cardstock and attached it
For the box I took a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of cardstock and used the Doily 2 Edge Punch and punched a border on the top and bottom of the cardstock. I scored along the long side at 1 inch on both sides. Then I scored from the short side at 3 1/2 and at 5 inches. Cut along the 3 1/2 and 5 inch score marks up to the 1 inch score. Do this on both sides as this will make the bottom and sides of your box. Fold all your scores in and adhere with some double sided tape. For the back of the box I took a 6 1/4 x 3 1/2 inch piece of patterned paper and matted it with black cardstock and attached the box to it. I decorated the box and printed a removable tag explaining the gift and stuck it inside the box along with some goodies.
For my rosette flower I used (2) 1 1/2×12 inch strips of patterned paper and scored them at every half inch. Attached the two together with some double sided tape and then attached both ends together making a circle. You will need to push down to flair your rosette out and attach to a piece of chipboard with a very heavy duty glue. You can decorate your hanger however you like but just remember to have fun!

We R Memory Keepers CHA...

If you are a crafter then you know it is that time of the year again...CHA! All week long we have seen the latest and greatest of what will come. I thought since everyone is packing up and headed back home I would share with you a few of my MUST haves from We R Memory Keepers.
My first must have is this paper trimmer and scorer...

Trim and score projects with the convenience of one tool. Cut precisely using titanium blades on the easy-to-use 12×12” fold out surface, or create score lines for any crafting project. With measurements in both inches and centimeters, it’s perfect for creating boxes, cards, and envelopes. The Trim & Score Board and Trim & Score Refill Blades begin shipping this October.

Next, I have my own room dedicated to my craft, but when I have my sister come over she has to sit and scrap on the floor...no more once I get my hands on this... The craft table folds out to 23 ½” wide x 59” high x 34” deep.

Save even more space by folding the craft table up, and it becomes a decorative chalkboard that can be replaced with photos or artwork. The Fold Down Craft Table includes: chalkboard, chalk, eraser, multiple storage compartments, and required hanging hardware. Look for the Fold Down Craft Tables this fall.

Check out the PUNCH BOARDS! Punch Boards make it easy, not to mention cost-effective, to create party bags and boxes simply by punching and scoring using any paper. Create bags and boxes in a variety of sizes and use them for special occasions such as baby and wedding showers, birthdays, holidays, party favors, and more. Use the Punch Boards to create Gift Bags, Gift Boxes, Pillow Boxes, and Candy Boxes. Look for these new tools this fall.

How cool is this, you can now punch your photo or paper a perfect 3x4" without measuring...

For those of us who love easy clean-up... The Precision Glass Cutting Mat is so much more than just an ordinary cutting mat. It’s made from tempered glass and comes with a smooth 13 inch surface for precise cutting and easy clean up. The non-skid feet and durable work surface make it perfect for cutting, stamping, painting, scrapbooking, and it’s even safe for hot glue. Look for angle measurement lines, in addition to both inch and metric markings. The Precision Glass Cutting Mat begins shipping this summer.

And last but not least...we are all aboard the Washi Tape train right now. It has got to be one of the hottest trends right now. Well, WR took it one step further with this new chevron tape... Not only is it tape, it is actually cut and shaped like chevron!

I will leave you all drooling over these new products for now, check back later for the new paper line releases and make sure you look for these products which will be coming out soon!

Senior Prom...

Senior Prom...the dance to end all dances! Not to be bias or anything but I think my son and his date were the best looking couple. I was so excited when I opened up my goodies from RRBF and saw that the new lines were a PERFECT match to highlight my photos. My son's date's dress was this beautiful gold ombre sequined with pinks and purples. (The photo does not really do the dress justice). She wanted to pull the gold out of her dress so my son was accented in shimmery gold with pink flowers to pull the pink out of the sequins. They looked beautiful. I used a subtle black print for the background to pull in the color of the tux and accented it all with pinks and golds to tie in all the colors. And of course, what layout is complete without bling, ribbon, twine and pop dots!

Happy Campers with WRMK

It is officially summer break here at my household. The youngest is done with sixth grade and the oldest graduated from high school last week. Whew, what an emotional roller coaster that week was! In light of summer break starting I thought I would share with you a layout using the We R Memory Keepers "Happy Campers" line. This line is so much fun with all of it's camping elements and wood grain patterned papers. I have only been camping a couple of times and sadly, that was so long ago back in my Girl Scout days and once a few years ago when my son was doing Cub Scouts. My daughter did not get to go with us so she used her birthday money and bought herself a little tent to use in the backyard. It was so fun watching her and my nephew put up this little tent and seeing the look of excitement when they actually got it put together! They had so much fun playing in it and so for now, this is as close to camping we will get....

I love being his mom...(Ruby Rock-It:Mother Nature)

Hello everyone. As we wind down our celebration of Mothers this month I get to share with you all another reason why I love being a mom. My son! Although lately he has been in the stage of pictures being "not cool"...I do manage to get him to share a special moment with me whenever he attends a High School dance. As much as this photo makes me happy, it saddens me as well. Reality set in, this is the last High School dance photo, his Senior Prom. My little boy is all grown up and as I look at this photo it makes me see all the reasons I love being a mom. I see the little boy he was, I see the young man he is and I see the man he will be. I am so glad that he takes the time to take these photos with me so that I can share them with you!
Mother Nature from Ruby Rock-It, although soft and delicate is not just for those "girlie" layouts. I wanted to show you that it can be used with a little bit more "masculine" photos. For some reason we all think there is this unspoken rule that flowers can't be used for male pages, this line proves us all wrong. Although soft, Mother Nature can easily inspire you to pull out those photos of your sons, your husbands or your dads! Products used:

Sugar Candy 12x12 Glitter Cardstock- Cool Mint

My Mommy...with RRBF Mother Nature and Arcadia...

Hi everyone! This month over at the RRBF blog we have been celebrating our Moms, our Grandmothers, or that special someone who is like a mother figure to us. Without them where would we be? This Mother's Day I was feeling a bit sappy...my youngest will be finishing up her first year of Junior High and my oldest will be graduating High School and is preparing to go away for college this year. I started to go through some old scrapbooks that I had done and even though I probably should have left the pages, there were some that to me just needed to be "redone". This one in particular really stood out to me as one of those layouts, not to mention that it was perfect for the theme we are celebrating. This was my daughter's Pre-School graduation. I asked her to tell me some things about myself that made me special to her. Her response made me smile and made me laugh a little. In her eyes I was special because: I am happy when she gives me hugs and kisses, I am really good at matching her clothes, I am always hugging and kissing her, I make the best carrot cake, I like to drink iced lattes, I always say "I love you" and just because I am the best Mommy!
I wanted to keep this layout pretty minimal because as you can see the Mother Nature and Arcadia lines basically speak for themselves.
The paper I used had a big "scenic" print on it and I really didn't want to cover it up so I used my craft knife and cut the outline of the prints out and used it as a photo corner somewhat.

Also this month Fiskars was kind enough to provide us with some of their wonderful punches so I created a giant photo mat and used the border punch to make it stand out a bit more. A little bit of ink and a few embellishments finished off my layout.

Some Kind of Wonderful...

Hi and I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! Today I am sharing with you a layout I made using a bunch of Ruby Rock-It/Bella! Fundamentals products. I also got to play with a Fiskars Border Punch since they were nice enough to share some of their wonderful products with us at RRBF this month. For this layout I had the wonderful photo of my daughter only I wanted it bigger and since my photo printer only prints up to a 4x6 photo I got the idea to crop the photo into 4's and print each piece. Once I got that done, I simply matched them up on my layout creating a much bigger focal point. You can see the edges of all 4 photos but I think that is okay...kinda gives the photo a window pane effect which I think looks kinda neat.
I added some of my favorite products from RRBF...the Decoupage. I use this on almost all of my layouts, it really gives that extra "pop".
I made a couple of different borders and layers for this layout. I used the Fiskars Flower Border Punch for one and I tore some paper for another. Both of these layers I finished off by inking the edges just to make the stand out a bit more. Products used:
RRBF:
FD00- A4 Decoupage Pack FD94-
A4 Decoupage Pack RE79-
Reminisce 12x12 Cardstock - Tick Tock
Mother Nature 12x12 Cardstock - Flutterby
