Upcycling=Creative Crafty Gifts!

If you are like me, you save anything remotely possible that looks like it can used on a scrapbook page, card or project! I save so much stuff I practically have to hide it from my husband because if he finds it he will throw it away. Recently while giving my daughter's room a major cleaning, I stumbled on an old dry erase board she had. It was a mess, scribbles all over, stickers stuck everywhere...well, I just could not throw it away, I knew I could do something with it. So with a little paint, some cork board (which my husband eh hem....had hoarding away) some scrappy papers and some embellishments, and for the pencil holder I used an old plastic coffee can and cut it right down the middle...a new board was created! I am so sorry that I completely spaced out taking a before picture...but here is the after...

To me this just did not look complete so again, the hoarder that I am found an old clipboard and did a few things to "gussy" it up and made it a calendar to go with the corkboard...

I still had one more thing that I thought would work with the enssamble, an old chipboard clothes hanger from Build A Bear...makes for a really cute door hanger....

I was in a real crafty mood this month so I also made a wall hanging for my daughter's room or for her door...

For this project I used 2 of the same scalloped papers. I used one for the back and for the front one I cut the scallops off and cut strips of that wonderful chipboard that we all save from our orders and covered it with matching ribbon to use as a base for the top layer...

A little bit of this and a little bit of that with Ruby Rock-It!

Free-Form February...oh how nice that sounds after all the hustle and bustle of CHA! We were given the opportunity to do what ever we wanted to this month. I took full advandage of this assignment. For my first layout I actually used 3 different lines...and Ruby Rock-It cardstock. The background paper is from the wedding line, The alpha stickers and some of the embellishments are from the Paper Doll line, the paper twine is from the Nostalgia line and from the Paper Boy line I used patterned paper and embellishments. I really love when I can make a layout using so many different elements and lines all together.
For my second layout I also used a few different lines. I used flowers and chipboard embellishments from the cardmaking elements, I used paper twine from the Nostalgia line, I used ribbon and die cut papers from the Keepsake line...and again all of these lines and elements flow so nicely together.

I hope I showed you how you can mix and match several different lines to make one wonderful layout!

I do with Momenta....

Hi everyone! I have actually had a bit of down time since CHA is over, and let me tell you, it has been nice. I have been kind of taking advantage of it for the most part. So while I am waiting for assignment dates to go live I thought I would share with you a couple of projects I got to do for the Momenta booth at CHA. These wedding papers and embellishments are so awesome and so easy to work with. Not only are they elegant, they have a bit of playfulness to them also allowing your projects to go either way you want then to. For my layout I went the elegant traditional wedding layout way....

And for my frame, I went a little elegant and playful using a plain wooden frame that I altered....

Bella/Ruby Rock-It Paper Boy Banners....

Good morning everyone! Today I want to show you something really fun I made with the Bella/Ruby Rock-It Paper Boy line. If you were all following the Ruby Rock-It blog, which I know you were...you saw some of the photos our wonderful team leader Rachel put up from CHA. The Ruby Rock-It booth was completed with a wonderfully cool bird cage like gazeebo fully decorated with banners we all made. Today I would like to show you one of mine... I am one to save everything and anything that I think can be used in some sort of crafty way. These old blue jeans were the perfect touch to show off this wonderful line....

Up close you can see all the fun elements this line has to offer and let me tell you...it was so fun to work with!

A Rainbow of Happiness!

Well, it is the end of the line for me over at Practical Scrappers. It was fun and I am happy I made it as far as I did...Top 15 out of 122...not too bad. Anyways, for this contest we were to have a layout ready to go for the next round if we did make it so since I didn't make it, here is the layout I had if I did. We were to use black and white with a splash of color. I turned my photos to black and white and just kept the colors of the words on my daughter's sweatshirt and pulled the colors from there...
