Okay, so I think it is safe now to put away the winter coats. We have actually had 2 nice days in a row...but you never know, this is CHICAGO! In light of the wonderful weather we have had I thought it was fitting to share this layout with you. I happened to sneak up on my daughter the other day while she was sitting out in my cousin's backyard. The We R Memory Keepers "For the Record" line was perfect for this picture with all of it's serene blues mixed in with the earth tones(actually one of my favorite color combo's). For my layout I used a sketch from ScrapbookSteals.com. They offer many sketches, challenges and discounts! Make sure you check them out!
This is the sketch I used created by their winter design team member Bev Code...
This is my vision of the sketch. I used WRMK For the Record and for the circle I used the WRMK circle cutter.

Easter Love using vellum...
Hello everyone. Today I am going to talk to you a little bit about a product that sometimes goes a little un-noticed...Vellum. Ruby Rock-It has this wonderful line of Vellum in a variety of patterns and a couple of different sizes. Now I know some of you may shy away from Vellum not really knowing how to adhere it or how to make it pop...well, I am going to share a few tips with you today that are going to make you want to run to the store and pick up all this yummy Ruby Rock-It goodness.
Let's get started with the finished product so we can notice the tips I am going to share with you really make this Vellum stand out...
For those of you who are not that all familiar with Vellum it is a translucent crisp type of paper. Since it is translucent it sometimes gets lost on your page so the first tip I am going to share with you is how to make the Vellum not get "lost" on your page. For my layout I was using a soft light background so my vellum kind of blended in. To solve this I scraped up the edges and then used a coordinating color of ink to ink the edges. I also curled up some of the corners and tears. Doing this made the Vellum stand out a bit more. Adhering Vellum can be tricky unless you have the proper tape. Therm o Web has just that. It is a Vellum Tape runner that is a virtually invisible permanent double-sided smooth adhesive. See, you can not see the tape through my Vellum. There are also some spots that I wanted to be a little raised up off the paper, I used Therm o Web's 3D foam adhesive squares. These are not translucent so I made sure I adhered them in a spot that I could put embellishments on top of to cover up the adhesive.
See, Vellum is not that scary to use and is much easier to work with now that you know these easy little tricks! So go on...go get yourself some and lets see what you create and maybe you can share a tip or two also.
